Matthew 5:27-30 NKJV
27 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’
28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
29 If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
In Matt 5:27-30 Jesus preached on “whoever commits adultery and lust will be cast into hell, unless he or she repents.
The word “whoever” really means whoever, and obviously includes Christians, since some of Jesus’ disciple were present. (Matt 5:1)
Notice that before Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus preached the pure gospel and repentance (Matt 4:17). The Sermon on the Mount was spoken to a multitude of people from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judaea, and beyond Jordan. Some of Jesus’ disciples like Peter, Andrew, James, and John were present during the Sermon on the Mount . (Matt 4:17-22, Matt 5:1)
Matt 5:27-30 are Jesus’ own words proving that “whoever”(Christians included) lusts and doesn’t repent, he or she will absolutely loose his salvation and be cast into hell.

Rev. Finis Dake was a very respected American Bible teacher who had a supernatural memory of the whole Bible. Rev. Dake spent about 100,000 hours of his life reading the Bible, and He has listed at least 118 scriptures proving that Christians that sin and don’t repent will indeed loose their salvation and end up in hell.
Also, some of the most outstanding Bible commentators in history such as John Wesley and Adam Clarke also warned of the same thing.
Important truths about lust in Matt 5:27-30
If we read Matt 5:27-30 very carefully and in context, we will clearly see the following important truths about lust.
- Lust = adultery in the heart (or mind), and God sees every sin of your flesh and every sin in your heart or mind.
- Matt 5:27-30 is clear, according to Jesus, lust is definitely a sin!
- In Matt 5:27-30 Jesus preached on “whoever commits adultery and lust will be cast into hell, unless he or she repents.
- Matt 5 verse 28 says, “whoever”. The word “whoever” really means whoever, and obviously includes Christians, since some of Jesus’ disciple were present. (Matt 5:1)
- 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 says do not be deceived, neither fornicator or adulterers shall inherit the kingdom of God.

Matthew 5 verse 29 says, “If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.”
In Matthew 5 verse 29, Jesus most likely hinted us about the story of Samson. So don’t be like Samson who learned thing the hard way. Don’t be like Samson, who waited until his eyes were plucked out to finally repent from the sins of fornication and sleeping with prostitutes.
