“There is a huge difference between admiring God and “desiring" God.
Psalm 27:4 King James Version
“One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in His temple.
One might be astonished at God’s power and glory and wants to adore God and admire His presence, but he/she is not yet ready to pay the price to discipline himself to seek God in prayer.
But if you really “desire" and hunger for God’s power and glory, you will take necessary steps and action and be willing to crucify the flesh, deny self, and discipline yourself to seek God in prayer, fasting, and worship.
The person who truly “desires" God will get rid of excuses, distractions, and worldliness such as TV, internet, movies, video games, sports, entertainment, and all things that the flesh likes.
“The person who truly desires God will pay the price to seek God’s maximum power for the purpose of glorifying God to the maximum degree possible in his/her lifetime!" -Johnson and Pearl
“If a person isn’t hungry for God’s glory, that’s because he’s hungry for sins like coveting money, lust, sex, power, pride of life, and shallow accomplishments.” －Johnson and Pearl
