God’s love is a 2-way street, not a one way coddle!
And since it is so, His love has to be conditional while free.
God’s love is always free but conditional!
When love is only one-way and unconditional, the receiver will soon become selfish, spoiled, and ungrateful.
For the sinner, he has to repent and take up his cross and follow Jesus, and believe in the true gospel in order to become a saved Christian. (Mark 1:15, Luke 9:23)
For the Christian, he still have to repent if he is living in any current sin, and he has to fear God and pray to receive God’s forgiveness and love. (Ps 66:18, Ps 103:11)
Should a good judge give a thief, a bank robber, a rapist, a murderer, a scam artist, or a school shooter “unconditional love" and coddle?
Of course NOT, they’ll just committ those crimes again and refuse to repent.
Of course NOT they’ll just do it again and refuse to repent!
Well, should God give sinners unconditional love and forgiveness ?
Well, should God the Judge of all the earth give sinners “unconditional love and unconditional eternal life" while requiring no genuine repentance on behalf of the sinners?
Of course not!
Think about it…
If a judge give a thief “unconditional love", the thief will not repent but continue stealing.
If a judge give a a rapist and a murder “unconditional love", the rapist and muderer will not repent but continue raping and killing people.
If a judge gives a scam artist “unconditional love", the scam artist will not repent but continue scamming people.
If you give an adulterer “unconditional love", the adulterer will not repent but continue to committ adultery and cheat on his or her spouse.
True love gives rules, boundaries, and discipline.
True love gives moral law and commandments.
True love gives both rewards and punishments.
True love is a 2-way street, not a one way coddle!

True love does not spoil or coddle children.
True love does not tolerate sin or crimes.
God’s love does not spoil or coddle His children.
True love comes from God.
God only gives true love.
God never spoils or coddles His children.
When love becomes one-way the receiver becomes selfish and spoiled!
Love has to be two-way or else the foolish parent will spoil the selfish child.
