Yale approved study showed cloth masks can’t block the Covid-19 virus

Yale university approved study showed cloth masks cannnot block the Covid-19 virus.

This is a study called a cluster randomized trial in rural Bangladesh from November 2020 to April 2021.
This cloth mask study was done on 342,126 adults in 600 villages in rural Bangladesh.

Group 1  received nothing
Group 2  surgical masks
Group 3  cloth masks

the intervention effect: 
Group 1  no intervention villages   0.76% (of the total tested positive for Covid-19 and had symptoms, this is less than 1%!)  
Group 3  cloth mask villages          0.74%
Group 2  surgical mask villages      0.67%

conclusion: no significant difference between those that wore cloth masks to those that didn’t wear any masks.

This study showed that cloth masks actually weren’t very helpful.

Mask filtration efficiency:
-by using a particle counter,

a. cloth masks                       37%
b. surgical mask (N95 mask) 95%

*In other words, wearing a cloth mask can only filter out 37% of the virus particles, but N95 mask can filter out  95% of the virus particles.
