The Asbury Revival was a hint from God
The Asbury Revival was a hint from God that ordinary Christian students without a PhD title, seminary degree, or money CAN pray down revival inside or outside a building.(It took Asbury students about 5 months.)
I am sure no seminary president or professor will tell you this, because their income depends on you NOT knowing this truth!
As a matter of fact, most revivalists in church history did not have titles, degrees, or money. We do believe going to a good Bible school may be beneficial, but not absolutely necessary in order to pray down revival. With that being said, all revivalists in the past were diligent students of the Bible, and they were all diligent and persistent in prayer.
Few examples of revivalists without a seminary degree are Maria Woodworth Etter, Charles Finney, Marie Monsen, Evan Roberts, Frank Bartleman, Peggy and Christine Smith (who prayed down the Hebrides Revival), Jeremiah Lanphier of the 1857 Prayer Revival in New York, J. Edwin Orr, Leonard Ravenhill, and many others, including the young men and women that prayed down past revivals in India, Indonesia, North Korea, and other nations of the world.
“Every revival in human history happened when God poured out His Spirit in response of a man or woman’s repentance and persistent prayer." -Johnson and Pearl
Men looks at outward appearance, God looks at the heart. -1 Sam 16:7
1 Samuel 16:7 King James Version
7 But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.

Yes, God can and God will. Acts 2:17-18
