“True revival is the Outpouring of the Spirit as happened on the 1st Pentecost.
Revival is also known as an “outpouring” of God’s Spirit. In the past 300 years of revival history, revival historians also called revivals as an “outpouring” of God’s Spirit. For example, the 1906-1910 Azusa Street Revival in Los Angeles is also known as “The Azusa Street Outpouring”.
Keep in mind that revival, aka “the outpouring” of God’s Spirit, is NOT a gospel or healing crusade, NOT a fire conference, a special meeting, a camp meeting, or a gathering of many churches or churchgoers.
“True revival is not only about the Baptism of the Spirit or speaking in tongues; rather, it is mainly about receiving revival power from on high, so that we can be powerful and effective witnesses for Jesus, and produce truly repentant converts. (Luke 24:49, Acts 1:8).
The Hebrew word translated repent is nacham, which means to turn around, or change one’s mind. On the highway of sin, there is only one destination. Repentance takes us in the opposite direction, to the road that leads to life.
In true revival, the Holy Spirit is outpoured, and He brings the power to prick sinners’ hearts (Acts 2:37), the power to convict and reprove the world of sin(John 16:8, Prov 1:23), and the power to bring sinners to true repentance and salvation(Acts 2:33-39).
In true revival, the Holy Spirit can also lead Christians to repent, overcome sin, and walk in the Spirit so they don’t fulfill the lusts of the flesh(Gal 5:16).
In true revival God also gives believers the power to witness and preach the pure gospel.(Acts 1:8, Luke 24:47) ” -Johnson and Pearl
