“John Wesley said, “Anything that cools my love for Christ is the world."  And since sports and entertainment cools our love for Christ instead of heats it, sports and entertainment are definitely two worldly idols.  First century Christians did not participate in any sports or entertainment, they were actually victims of them.  In the Roman Coliseums, Christians and their children were fed to the lions, and that was the origin of sports, entertainment, games, and competitions.  Oh, how carnal and worldly have the 21 Century Christians become!”  －Johnson and Pearl
